Great piece by Rex Nutting on the myth of a spending explosion under Obama: Of all the falsehoods told about President Barack Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree. As would-be president Mitt Romney tells it: “I will lead us out of this debt and spending inferno.” Almost everyone believes …
Useful idiots
One of the great victories of conservatism was framing every debate as the real, Tebow-fearing Murkins versus the dirty hippies who spit on soldiers. Is there anyway the left could try to do the same with banskters and bankster fanboys? A few months ago, I would have scoffed at this idea, but after the nosedive …
Good enough for me and Jimmy P
If you haven’t checked out that James Pethokoukis atrocity that John linked to, here’s a taste from April, 2008: As a movie buff, I keep looking for the right cinematic analogy for the American economy. Try this one: It’s like the Terminator. Not the Schwarzenegger one—the other one, the Terminator from the second film. You …
Circle Jerks
DougJ’ post about the laughable idiot James Pethokoukis (he’s the clown who spent October 2008 flogging the Goldberg theorem claiming the market was tanking not because of the economic crisis but because of an impending Obama electoral victory) and his “Reagan at Rekyavik” nonsense reminded me of the fawning media coverage Reagan got in 1985 …

It’s not that I think Obama and his advisers are crypto-Republicans, it’s just that DC …
It takes a nation of millions to hold them back
Jimmy P gives Republicans the worst political advice ever (via Steve M): Since Democrats are determined to hang Ryan’s bold “Path to Prosperity” budget plan around the neck of every Republican running for office in 2012, why not have its author and best salesman advocate for it directly vs. President Obama? If you want to …

Let them fail
Conservatives are making a huge push to force states into bankruptcy, presumably in order to fuck unions. Here’s Grover Norquist (in Politico), here’s a guy named David Skeel (in Weekly Standard), here’s Jimmy P. Next stop: Bobo, George Will, and Charles Lane. This is potentially a big issue, definitely something to keep your eye on.
