I find it thoroughly depressing that this is one of the leading lights of the right:
He is so full of it he can’t even keep wipe that shit-eating grin off his face. Where do they find these people. Who votes for them? Why?

Apparently, someone vandalized the Obama HQ in Gregg County Texas:
The building is the Gregg County campaign office of Barack Obama where just yesterday, hundreds of East Texans showed up to see actor, Samuel L. Jackson stump for the campaign.
The building is not only the headquarters for Obama’s Gregg County campaign, but it is also a phone service center. Early this morning the owner, Eddie Towles and his technicians found the words “a racist” spray painted on two company vans.
“I don’t even know why anyone would do this except ignorance- total ignorance,”said Towles Phone Center technician, Lonzell Johnson.
Has anyone seen his guy, and if so, does he have any spray paint on his hands?

Total ignorance, indeed.

Now that Bloomberg has announced he is not running, can we stop paying attention to whiny narcissists (see Nader, Ralph)? You have a clear choice this election. You can go vote for the third Bush term with lots more war and with the filth still in charge, or you can vote to end the nonsense of the last 8 years. The choice is clear.
If you choose to vote for some asshole third party candidate, you deserve the rogering you get from another Republican administration and you probably deserved the last eight years. So please STFU- you get to choose between evil and not evil in November. Deal with it.

Bill must have seen a lot of traffic yesterday, as the Washington Monthly linked him (and that is how I got there to see the Khaddafi foolishness), because he has this whiny screed up:
What does a link from Daily Kos and attention from the Left get you? A flood of appalling comment-sludge. Not spam. Sludge, dumped by angry left-wingers who can’t seem to make an argument without using a bucket full of foul language and without engaging in personal attack. Comments like that came in by the hundreds yesterday, each one a testament to the refusal of the Left to debate the issue of Barack Obama’s coziness with terrorist supporters and focusing instead on the use of Obama’s middle name. My blog’s comments policy bars such language and personal attack, I deleted them. All of them. Because I simply didn’t feel like wasting my time reading every single comment.
I simply don’t get this- Bill and the GOP somehow find it acceptable to focus on Barack’s middle name, pretend he is a stealth mulism aligned with 60’s radicals and anti-Smites who want to destroy Israel (and, by extension the US!), and that is all well and good to just throw that out into public debate.
But if someone stops by a little-known website and tells the proprietor that he is full of shit for the bile he is dumping into the public discourse, well that, my friends, is just FUCKING OUT OF LINE.
Get a grip. The amount of filth in your comments is directly proportional to the amount of crap you spew into the general public. You don’t like it, quit being a bottom-feeder. People aren’t going to come by your site and call you a jackass because you disagree with Obama on issues. Keep smearing him, and you can expect lots of company. You aren’t a victim here, you are just getting what you asked for.

Remember that idiotic Bill Hobbs post yesterday, in which he mistakenly took a Josh Marshall joke about Obama’s ties to Khaddafi seriously and looked like a total idiot?
You will never guess what happened next. He tried to delete the post, but Stephen at the Politburo Diktat caught him and has the screen shots. I guess if destroying evidence is good enough for the White House, it is good enough for second-rate party hacks in Tennessee (and this should serve as yet another example of how thoroughly rotten the GOP is from top to bottom). Lead by example, I always say.
BTW- does this mean that we get to have another blogger ethics panel?

Josh Marshall breaks down the GOP strategy:
Hopefully, everyone can now see the McCain strategy for running against Barack Obama. Yes, we have some general points on taxes, culture wars and McCain as war hero who can protect us in ways that flash-in-the-pan pretty boy Barack Obama can’t.
But that’s not the core. The core is to drill a handful of key adjectives into the public mind about Barack Obama: Muslim, anti-American, BLACK, terrorist, Arab. Maybe a little hustler and shifty thrown in, but we’ll have to see. The details and specific arguments are sort of beside the point. They’re like the libretto in a Wagner opera, nice for some narrative structure. But it’s the score that’s the real essence of it, the point of the whole exercise.
As Josh goes on to point out, if you think it is an accident that all these surrogates are saying nasty stuff if an accident, I got some cheap sub-prime loans you might be interested in. They let them blurt out the nasty stuff to get it out there, and then mcCain repudiates it and looks like he is running a clean campaign. A twofer, as Digby notes.
On the upside, at this rate they will be out of insults by November. Maybe.

I swear to goodness that when I checked Memeorandum and saw the headline “McCain’s Canal Zone Birth Prompts Queries About Whether That Rules Him Out”I thought it meant something about his mother’s birth canal and a c-section birth and said to myself WTF.
Having read the article, I think the actual story is just about as stupid.
