Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The fundamental promise of conservatism all over the world is a return to an idealized past that never existed.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

This chaos was totally avoidable.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

We will not go back.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

You’re just a puppy masquerading as an old coot.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

Good lord, these people are nuts.

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

So, you going to send an Imperial Storm Trooper to the Senate?*

Which is to say that W. VA Gov. Joe Manchin’s web ads kick ass:

More here.  Fun.

*(Ahhh, Godwin…just can’t quit you, can I.  I mean really. We know who Palpatine was, don’t we.  And we know who the Sturmabteilungen were, right)

    OK. This is annoying. I do what I do over at Inverse Square to hang a Youtube video up there, and it doesn’t work.

    So, anyone. What did I do wrong. Am I just a bad person?

    I may be developing an entirely heterosexual man-crush on Joe Manchin.

    Awesome ad! I just hope the 1000 lasers aren’t manned by actual Imperial stormtroopers, or we’re totally fucked when the missiles come flying. “Only stormtroopers are so precise” my ass.

    @Tom Levenson: The Internet always works perfectly, so I’m assuming you’re a bad person. Why not a post about when you stopped beating your wife? ;)

    Those ads were fun.

    I bet they even got permission to use the images (unlike the republicans who always appropriate songs and then get slapped by the artists).

    @Tom Levenson:

    Ask Cole, I know that with WP, when I embed a youtube at my site it’s just

    [youtube=YOUTUBE URL PASTED HERE]

    into the html field on the dashboard.

    Beyond that, you got me.

    @freelancer: That’s what I thought I did. There is something funky in the url…and I’m too into watching my Giants to dig into it.

    So yup, I’m a bad person.

    The rifle is over the top. We complain when the goppers even mention the 2nd Amendment, yet here’s a Dem with a real rifle shooting his opponent out of the sky. I predict a real uproar on right-wing blog and media. Then, the left will pick it up too.

    Other than that, I loved all 3 ads.

    And we know who the Sturmabteilungen were, right

    I’m kind of proud that my four-year-old thinks the word “stormtrooper” refers to brown shirts, not white armor.

    Raese bears an alarming resemblance to Songbird John McCain, right down to the total ignorance of military and strategic reality.

    OK, that is some seriously funny shit.
    Why are they web ads? They should be playing at least the first one on TV. (Comedy Central would show them for free.)

    @p mac:

    They probably calculate that someone will show them on TV because they are funny and fairly cutting, which means they can save some money and get people to see them anyway.

    Technically, the stormtroopers were a German innovation from the first world war.

    So you’re Godwin-free on this one.
