My friend John Amato at Crooks and Liars got profiled Sunday in the LA Times Magazine.

Because There is Not Enough Stupid In the World
Apparently the world is running low on stupid, so Tony Pierce (aka ‘he who still thinks it is cool and original to not capitalize’) has decided to pitch in:
now im not saying that Charles Johnson and Roger L. Simon are in bed with the Bush Administration, or the Instapundit. those guys are fair and balanced. any time the Republicans make horrible mistakes, the first people to point them out are Little Green Footballs and Professor Reynolds.
but i am saying that in light of the latest example of Propaganda from Above – Pajamas Media is starting to look fishier and fishier.
Johnson and Reynolds ran super tight ships at LGF and Instapundit.com – why is Pajamas Media such a clusterfuck of sloppiness and confusion? Could it be that its a reflection of their donors: BushCo? Could it be because Johnson et al have long-term guaranteed contracts that has nothing to do with ad revenue, but instead has to do with keeping the Administration happy with pro-Bush coverage, that they simply dont care about the details of their goofy site – just keep it rolling and keep it Right.
And why did Tim Blair bail out once he came to America and saw OSM/Pajamas up close. Did he see the puppet strings and piss his pants?
That is right. You caught us. Paid shills for the Bush administration. Or is it the JOOS we work for?
And with that, back to my shameless promotion of the administration. Oh yeah. I haven’t written a positive thing about this administration since… well… probably around Terri Schiavo.
dumber… than… a… bag… of… hammers…

Just go read Joe Katzman, and in particular this rebuttal to the horse manure Tony is spreading.

My Nomination for DKOS Guest Blogger
Kos is throwing out the old, and bringing in the new:
It’s that time of the year. Time for the existing guest bloggers to ride off into the sunset and make way for a new batch. This will be the fourth year of the site, and already the site has a storied list of alumni:
Year one: Billmon, Steve Gilliard, RonK, Steve Soto
Year two: DemFromCT, DHinMI, Meteor Blades, Theoria, Trapper John
Year three: Armando, DavidNYC, Hunter, Kid Oakland, Plutonium Page
Year four: ???
This is where you guys come in. I make all final determinations, but every single one of the alumni listed above was recommended by the community. My choices will come from the people you recommend.
I nominate Cindy Sheehan, whose uplifting rhetoric and lilting prose put a smile on my face every time she posts.
In all seriousness, there is someone over there whose name is escaping me (Darksyde, maybe?) who does great posts on environmental and science-related issues. I wouldn’t mind seeing him/her front page every day. I don’t think I am the target audience, though.
And no, I could not make it a week without feeding my Sheehan obsession.

Yeah. It is Darksyde.
Scott Adams Update
I mentioned Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert and now blogger, in an earlier post. Now I learn, via Louise via Pharyngula, that Adams has decided to wade into the wrong side of the creation debate. Louise Pharyngula compares Adams to Wally, which doesn’t sound right to me. For my money Adams is more like the hyper-talented garbage man who knows how to fix every f-cking thing on the planet.
Have you ever gotten into it with the idiot savants behind six-sigma and hidden-planet conspiracy theories? I have. Don’t bother; there is no authority you can reference that they can’t find some obscure reason to doubt. These guys are often gifted engineers who’ve spent so long knowing practically everything about their particular specialty that it seems like a short leap to imagine that they know everything about everything. The same guys torment mathematicians and physicists tirelessly with inane theories of Everything.
Scott Adams was apparently a very good engineer and while I wouldn’t put him in the six sigma camp (which he has mocked), the same tendency lets him believe that he knows enough about evolution to stick it good to the people who spend their lives studying it. That’s not the sort of thing I’d expect Wally to do, but it would be right in character for the Good Will Hunting garbage guy.
That said, his blog is still funny and I still read Dilbert before doing practically anything else in the morning.
***Update***
Minor error fixed (sorry, Louise!). Also, Scott Adams not an engineer? There goes my damn theory. Next week remind me to share with you my expanded theory of EVERYTHING, hidden planets included.
This Is Classy
Jeralyn Merritt is a class act, and proves it with this post.
More of this, please.
Dumbest Story to Consume the Blogosphere to Date
The X over Dick Cheney’s face on CNN.
Who f–king cares?
And yet, hundreds of blogs are caught up in it.
Meanwhile, I have important decisions to make. Turkey or duck tomorrow? I have ALWAYS had turkey on Thanksgiving, but maybe duck would be an interesting change.
Jeebus. I will have turkey. I don’t want to get deported to Cuba or something.
Here is the line-up so far:
Turkey (yes, I will soak it in salt water)
Stuffing
Sauerkraut
Green Beans
Creamed Onions
Mashed Potatoes
Cranberries
Gravy, Gravy, Gravy
Anything else?
