Awwww, poor guy. Rot.
In an apparent attempt to speed his return to football, Michael Vick began serving time in prison yesterday, more than three weeks before he is scheduled to be sentenced after pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges.
Vick, the star quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, turned himself in to United States marshals and was brought to the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Va.
Vick is scheduled to be sentenced by United States District Judge Henry E. Hudson on Dec. 10 in Richmond, and by beginning his jail time, he will be credited with time served. According to the sentencing guidelines, Vick faces from a year to 18 months in prison.
I hope he never plays football again. I hope he can never get a job when he gets out. Yeah, I know someone will probably hire him, but I’m just hoping no one ever will. What a worthless human being.
But just watch, after last night’s game against the Jets, John will probably want him!

John Hawkins, in a piece today proving that anyone can write for Townhall, takes on the Clagina and asks the following:
If a CEO of a fortune 500 company were to retire, would anyone seriously consider his wife to be an adequate replacement simply because she was married to him when he ran the company? What about a Super Bowl winning football team? What do you think the reaction of their fans would be if their coach’s wife was being seriously discussed as his replacement?
It sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Yet, Hillary Clinton has practically been anointed by the press and the punditocracy as our next President, despite the fact that her run at the presidency is almost entirely based on being Bill Clinton’s wife.
I am not going to say too much about this, because I am going to go out on a limb and bet this is one of the most widely cited stories by the end of the day. There is no need to point out Hillary’s long list of accomplishments, something I can acknowledge even though I really don’t like her much. I will, however, say this- Hawkins is on to something. If only more of us, a few years back, had asked the following:
“Just because someone is the President’s idiot son, does that mean he would make a good President?”
Clearly the answer is no.

Is this legal:
And in Boston and other Massachusetts cities, folks “cannot challenge a $100 parking ticket in court without first paying a $275 court fee,” a fee which is not refunded if they’re ultimately found innocent.
Seriously. The mafia has more shame.
I simply do not understand how they can get away with this.

I think Project Valor-IT is a good cause and, like a lot of other “support the troops” initiatives, both online and from a personal standpoint, I may consider contributing. But then I see posts like this from Malkin:
In addition to my donation yesterday, I will chip in another $25 for each left-wing blogger, up to 10 total, who signs up today.
Which, if you’ll forgive me for being a cycnic, may as well read, “We set up this charity so we could bash those troop-hatin’ libruls over the head with it,” and I become less interested in being a part of it.

If there is a place with more abject stupidity swirling around than the right-wing blogosphere, I’d like to know where it is.
There isn’t such a place. Next question.
Really, you have to read this to believe it, I can’t do it justice. I can tell you this- Glenn’s tricky use of ellipses and hyperlinks seems to have completely confused the living shit out of the leading minds of the right blogosphere. These folks shouldn’t be allowed near sharp objects. Or keyboards.
*** Update ***
I am going live with my theory, the only thing I can come up with for the rampant asshattery and thorough idiocy we have witnessed lately from the right-wing blogosphere:
They are now working in concert to say as many stupid things as possible so that we are unable to document and mock them all.
It is the only thing that makes sense.

As Tim noted via AOL IM, “an instant classic.”
Personally, I am just relieved we can stop nancying about and really get into the good old stab-in-the-back phase of this war. In fairness to the Confederate Yankee, the grammatical problems may stem from a direct translation from the original German, as Molly Ivins noted in another case.
