Trump brought his hate rally to Colorado and I find myself very angry about it. Nothing he says is true, yet there were 10K cheering him and Stephen Miller as they villainize everyone. Including children. Something about it being in my home state, directed at my neighbors that has me seething. I’m sorry to all of you in swing states that he visits regularly. Fuck him.

Per Austin news station KXAN, “‘Take Our Border Back Convoy’ heading through Central Texas to Eagle Pass”:

The “Take Our Border Back Convoy” will head from Dripping Springs to Eagle Pass, Texas later this week in a show of force organizers say will “call on our government to take action” to “secure the southern border.”…

The trip is part of a nationwide call to action bringing people to various hotspots along the border including Eagle Pass, Yuma, Arizona, and San Ysidro, California. The group invites “active and retired law enforcement and military, veterans, Mama Bears, elected officials, business owners, ranchers, truckers, bikers, media, and law-abiding, freedom-loving Americans.”

The Texas stint will include a “pep rally” at the Dripping Springs H-E-B on Thursday, Feb. 1. The group will then leave from Dripping Springs on Feb. 2 and travel to the Cornerstone Children’s Ranch in Quemado.

A spokesperson for H-E-B reached out to KXAN to let us know company policy prohibits rallies or protests on company property regardless of the reason for the event. They have attempted to let organizers of the event know they will need to gather somewhere else…

“We’re not going to blockade,” an organizer said in a Sunday video address. “We don’t want to cause any problems for law enforcement or the National Guard… we don’t want to put anyone in danger.”

Some border residents and advocacy groups are wary, however. The League of United Latin American Citizens issued its second-ever “National Alert” in response to the convoy, warning of possible violence and criticizing Gov. Abbott of spreading harmful rhetoric…

The convoy’s official conduct expectations requires that members agree to “peacefully participate.”

After all, if the Big Gubmint brings the hammer, no more sweet sweet ‘love offerings’…

I assume this is happening now because the IRS, or the banks which are his creditors — or both — are pressing Musk a littler harder than he can handle? Per the NYTimes:

X, the company formerly known as Twitter, handed out stock grants to employees on Monday that showed it was worth about $19 billion, down about 55 percent from the $44 billion that Elon Musk paid to buy the firm a year ago, according to internal documents seen by The New York Times.

Mr. Musk paid $54.20 a share to buy Twitter just over a year ago. The tech billionaire has since said he overpaid for the social network. In March, he wrote in an email to workers that he believed the company was worth $20 billion, calling it “an inverse start-up.”

In the paperwork for the new stock grants, X said the equity would be offered at $45 a share in the form of restricted stock units, which employees can earn over time. Employees will still be paid in cash in the amount of $54.20 for any outstanding shares that were granted to them under previous management, the company said.

It’s unclear why the share price has not dropped by the same percentage as the company’s valuation, though X could have altered the amount of shares outstanding. Fortune earlier reported on the valuation…

Pratt is listed as a potential witness to testify against Trump in a case brought by special counsel Jack Smith regarding his mishandling of classified information, and he reportedly shared information with prosecutors about Trump revealing to him sensitive intelligence regarding U.S. nuclear submarines, including how many warheads the subs usually carry and how close they could get to Russian submarines before they are detected.

Pratt also bragged on tape that Trump shared with him some of the contents of a private conversation with then-president of Iraq Barham Salih. According to Pratt: “[Trump] said, ‘I just bombed Iraq today, and the president of Iraq called me up and said, ‘You just leveled my city.’ And I said to him, ‘OK, what are you going to do about it?’”…

The billionaire said of Trump, “He knows exactly what to say and what not to say so that he avoids jail, but gets so close to it that it looks to everyone like he’s breaking the law. Look what I have to show for my efforts to become speaker of the House of Representatives! Two rounds of voting, and I managed to get fewer votes the second time than the first! I don’t understand. My plan was flawless! Go on Fox News and yell!

I thought I had a clear pitch! “I have never passed any legislation, I want to burn everything down, and I am friends with Sean Hannity. Put me in charge, or someone will send you a series of weird texts!” Yet this has not been working! I also tried tweeting that it was time to put aside our differences and come together, but apparently nobody could read that sentiment from me without bursting into hysterical laughter.

So you understand now what I was doing. Why I have made it my business to undermine our democratic institutions! You thought I was trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election for my health? Just because I love chaos and want to throttle any thriving institution until it perishes? No! I was doing it because voting does not work out for me.

Apparently, a cunning plan was hammered out to let McHenry keep the gavel (and his personal tiny chair) until the next Congress convenes in January — with the understanding that Jim Jordan would be the ‘speaker designee’ once that happened. For some reason, this attempt to placate Jordan by giving him everything he wants did not appeal to the Republicans who have made it very clear that they don’t want Jim Jordan as Speaker!
