Look, I am not saying I disagree with the general content of Olbermann’s “Special Comments,” but they are so god damned smug and overwrought that they are completely unwatchable for me. And I genuinely think the guy is a good thing for the news, and love his normal Countdown’s.
And I know have agreed and disagreed with him in the past, but really, when I watch these special comments, all I can think is “You should have stayed with “Put the biscuit in the basket.””
Flame on.

I give up:
Larry Sinclair is one of the most outrageous anti-Obama smear merchants. So why is the National Press Club hosting him this coming Wednesday? Apparently Jeff Gannon wasn’t available.
Sinclair’s story about having used cocaine and having sex with Obama in 1999 is not credible. As Stoller says, it’s another “whitey” style rumor and we all know how quickly this stuff makes the leap from the right wing smear machine to Sean Hannity to Fox News and then alley-oops its way into the AP.
I really don’t know what to say. If the media is now going to talk to every crackpot out there, there used to be a lady who walks up and down High Street here in Morgantown with a bottle of bleach talking to herself. Maybe she can speak next month.

Hrmm:
Some of the comments in the Kos post explain that if you call the NPC, they’ll tell you that the NPC rents event space to anyone and that they’ve got nothing to do with this guy: he reserved a room to speak and so his event automagically shows up on their calendar.
What is the over/under his presser ends up on Hardall anyway?

Via memeorandum, this may be the most wingnuttiest blogpost yet this election cycle:
Kos Tries To Pass Off Obama’s Birth Certification As Birth Certificate
Take that, Obamabots!
In the comments of the post, we learn the following:
By concentrating on the word African, you’re all missing the REAL real point: they didn’t have laser printers back in 1961. This document has to be a phony. That, or a legally qualified custodian of the original record issued a certified transcript of the original and adopted the modern usage of the term African where it said Negro or something else in the original.
This is going to be the most awesomest election EVAH!

Bill Moyers Journal reports on government proposals to spy on… your Warcraft and Second Life activity:
What is weird about the WoW footage in the piece is that it features AQ events stuff, which is from several years ago. Guess that was the only file footage they had.

What will happen with all the torture evidence? Civvie courts don’t have that mute button.
BTW, it will be interesting to know whether the ruling applies retroactively. We might hear more about those written instructions to destroy torture notes.

Has any other candidate for President been required to prominently andpublicly display his/her birth certificate to prove they are American (particularly after they have already won the nomination)?
If so, I am unaware of this happening. If not, I guess this is just more proof of Geraldine Ferraro’s thoughtful “black guys have it easy” thesis.

The verdict from the lunatic fringe- it isn’t good enough! the birth certificate needs additional debunking. A genealogist needs to be summoned to determine whether or not Obama’s father is indeed “African.”
You think I am kidding? Check out the comments at Hot Air.
*** Update #2 **
I am looking at my original birth certificate right now, from WV, and it does not specify what hospital I was born in, or what time I was born. Interestingly enough, it does not ask what “race” I am, it simply asks what color I am (“White”, the birth certificate informs us). Although if we wanted to haggle, sometimes when I have had too much sun I take on a pinkish red. Clearly there is a conspiracy in WV regarding my birth.
