Tom Price just put down a marker worth keeping in your ACA google doc. "We believe strongly that we will see a decrease in premiums."
— jennifer steinhauer (@jestei) March 7, 2017
has anyone asked tom price which medical companies the bill recommends we buy stock in
— Big Sharia Jeb Malmö (@Mobute) March 7, 2017
1. No repeal
2. Exchanges collapse under Price’s watch
3. Medicaid expansion mostly sticks
4. Next time, Dems just expand public programs— Matthew Yglesias (@mattyglesias) March 7, 2017

And if it wasn’t triple spaced and if we didn’t use the really big font it would fit on an index card and be even better!

1) the gop leadership has decided that yes, the government must be deeply involved in the health insurance market including some sort of mandate and some sort of premium support
2) trump loudly promised universal coverage, better and cheaper than o-care
3) no matter what happens the gop has basically decided to own the outcome
this has been an interesting week so far.

Bringing this up from the previous thread where it was OT: NYU did a theater experiment where they took excerpts from the Clinton/Trump debates and reversed the genders of the candidates, with some unexpected results. Turns out that subconscious misogyny is a pretty complicated set of reactions.

Pay a 30% penalty to the poor, poor insurance companies and get a shitty coverage in return. Freedumb is cheap and short indeed.

Medicaid has decreased the ability for folks to gain access to care? Were it not for Medicaid, I’d have no access right now, so Price can stick it.

Okay, I watched the Spicer video. “This is government; this is not.” ???? WTF? Isn’t he “the government” now? Isn’t Trump? Congress? Whose plan is it, then? I mean, I know some lobbyist group wrote it, but are they saying that a plan that they say they want the government to pass “isn’t government?”
They are just so dumb.

Well, see, there aren’t a lot of Medicaid providers, so it’s hard to find a doctor who will accept Medicaid payments, but if you pay cash for everything, then you can see any doctor you want!
The fact that poor people tend not to have a lot of cash laying around by definition usually escapes these guys.

Spicer must be really missing the good old days when he could dress up as the Easter Bunny, get a sweet man hug from W, and joke around with the kids.
Edit: R-E-S-P…. E-C-T! How easy it can go.
Edit: and now that I think about it, I predict the Trump admin Easter Bunny, should there be one, will be a total disaster.

What, all these years I’ve been worrying about insurance and all I had to do was pay cash? Why didn’t I know about this sooner?
Oh wait, the amount of cash I have available would pay for about one not-very-serious trip to an ER. I forgot.

Otherwise tonight, I finished the Crowley portion of the research pile for my urban fantasy novel and had a friend over for a while. We talked about all the things.
So, that was my night. Why did I get out of the boat? Sigh.

We have an Android phone. But we keep it turned off except when we make a phone call, or need to look up an address of something. I think it’s lots harder to hack a device that is turned off than one that is on 24/7. Correct me if I’m wrong about that.
And we have black electrical tape over the cameras on our laptops, too. Not being paranoid, just being careful.
