War for Ukraine Day 1,191: Russia Strikes Ukrainian Agricultural and Food Infrastructure

A screen shot of NEIVANMADE's painting commemorating the Holodomor. The painting is of a loaf of brown bread with a candle in its center on a table or ledge in fromt of a window. Outside the window it is dark, but the shapes of people can be seen through the glass. "1932 - 1933" is above the top of the window. Below the table is the word "GENOCIDE".

We’re forecast for some nasty weather and my sinuses are killing me, which I think is correlated to the weather change, so I’m just going to run down the basics so I can rack out.

Before we get to the basics I want to start with what Putin and Russia have been doing with their recent drone swarm, missile, and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure. These strikes are intended to sap Ukrainians morale by terrorizing them through striking over and over and over at all hours of the day, but especially in the small hours of the night. Ukrainian air defense has done amazing work blunting these attacks, so Russia has adjusted its targeting.

In addition to striking a transport depot in Kharkiv, russia also targeted a humanitarian aid warehouse in Izium, as well as homes and a farm in the Chuhuiv district — a deliberate assault on both civilian life and survival.

Russia has recently intensified attacks on Ukrainian food supplies:

– Grain and potato storagas in Chernihiv
– A farm in the Mykolaiv region
– A humanitarian aid storage in Kharkiv region.

All in the past week.

Using hunger as a weapon. Classic Russia.

Putin, his inner circle of trusted agents, advisors, and catspaws all know of the Soviet fueled and exacerbated famine of the Holodomor. Targeting agricultural and food infrastructure probably seems like a good way for them to achieve the effect of terrorizing the Ukrainians.

Not a Single Day Must Be Lost, Because Every Day of Russia Undermining Diplomacy Costs Human Lives – Address by the President

30 May 2025 – 21:27

I wish you good health, fellow Ukrainians!

Today, there was a lot going on throughout the day – both in internal work and in external affairs.

There was a visit to Ukraine by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye – we discussed diplomacy with him; we discussed all the real opportunities that exist and those that must be created. Currently, to be honest, neither we in Ukraine nor Türkiye, as the host country, have any information about Russia’s so-called “memorandum.” For some reason, the Russians are concealing this document. Frankly speaking, this is an absolutely bizarre position. There is no clarity about the format. Apparently, they in Moscow have completely lost the habit of diplomacy. They keep doing things to prove that they are the most inadequate actor in the world. But that is precisely what convinces everyone that new pressure is needed – pressure on Russia.

My conversation with President Erdoğan of Türkiye is also scheduled for today. We are trying to add real substance to a potential meeting. Not a single day must be lost, because every day of Russia undermining diplomacy costs human lives.

Today, I also had a meeting with U.S. Senators Graham and Blumenthal. It was a good meeting. I thank them for this support – support of Ukraine, for the bipartisan support, for their support for diplomacy, and for their efforts to bring moral clarity to the situation. It was Russia that started this war. It is Russia that must stop the killings and the destruction of lives. It is very important that this is voiced in the media, that this is voiced in Congress, and that this is voiced in all the world’s influential offices. If Russia continues to speak in the language of ultimatums, if they try to blackmail the world with the continuation of war, Russia must receive a strong response – a response from the United States, a response from Europe, a response from everyone around the world who wants peace and who, by the way, has declared their support for a ceasefire and for diplomacy. I thank everyone in the United States who is working for a dignified and just peace, and for peace as soon as possible.

Also today, together with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sybiha and the team of the Office of the President, we coordinated meetings and coordinated negotiations for next week with our EU partners. Maximum efforts in all areas of work – this is a task for everyone.

And one more important thing.

For quite a long time – and unfortunately, more out of inertia than sincere commitment – Ukraine has marked Children’s Day on June 1st. Although each year, more and more civil society organizations and educational institutions have been focusing on Universal Children’s Day, which is marked in the fall, on November 20th. I have signed a decree that aligns Ukraine’s practice with the global one. It was precisely on November 20th that the Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1959, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. But what we will do soon in June – in the early days of June – is we begin to award not only adults who have distinguished themselves, but also children. The bravery of Ukrainian children, their resilience, and often the maturity of our children truly deserve recognition and gratitude. There will be a special award in Ukraine – “The Future of Ukraine” – and Olena and I will present it for the first time next week to the bravest of our boys and girls. To those who helped save people. Who showed extraordinary personal resilience. And whom we can all only be proud of.

Next week, I will personally thank them on behalf of all of Ukraine, and we will make such a distinction, such an expression of gratitude, our new tradition. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine! I thank everyone who defends our state and all our people.

Glory to Ukraine!

Kellogg says NATO expansion is a security concern for Russia.

Russia invaded Ukraine before NATO membership was ever established as a constitutional goal. That objective emerged solely in response to Russian aggression, meaning Russia’s only real concern with NATO is that it would

From The Washington Post:

KYIV — Soon after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Kyiv’s top diplomat made a very personal and little-known policy decision: He encouraged Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry staff to bring their dogs to work.

Dmytro Kuleba’s rule meant employees didn’t have to leave their terrified dogs at home during missile and drone attacks.

And it meant Kuleba’s new rescue, a gray French bulldog named Marik, scooped from the wreckage of the besieged Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, would spend the next couple of years overhearing foreign policy discussions as he waddled around the office.

Such an arrangement might seem unusual for a foreign minister — but not in wartime Ukraine.

Russia’s invasion has made the security of pets a national priority. Families in front-line towns often flee Russian shelling with multiple pets in tow, and soldiers feed and care for those left behind. Volunteers then risk their lives to evacuate them to safer cities, where they are often adopted into Ukrainian families or sent abroad.

The lengths Ukrainian troops and volunteers have gone to rescue vulnerable dogs has spurred a massive cultural shift, transforming Ukraine — once criticized for its treatment of animals — into an extraordinarily dog-friendly country. Gone are stuffy old rules banning pets from many places. Kuleba resigned in 2024, but the Foreign Ministry confirmed that his dog policy remains in place.

Dogs are also now welcome inside most restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, grocery stores and hotels in major Ukrainian cities. They’re often greeted with water bowls and treats or, in some cases, their own menus.

And, like Marik the French bulldog, and Kuleba’s later rescue, Puzan, who is from the eastern town of Lyman, many of these dogs were rescued from the front lines. In Kyiv’s sprawling parks, families now trade notes about their four-legged mutts’ hometowns, describing dramatic escapes from war.

Ukrainians’ commitment to saving front-line animals “literally changed how we as a nation are perceived abroad,” Kuleba said.

Here are some stories of the dogs of war.

A pack of abandoned dogs roamed the nearly empty village close to the eastern front where Ukrainian soldier Mykola Kulivets was stationed in 2022 — but the smallest, with her long black fur and pointy ears, stood out from the rest.

One April morning, she appeared all alone at the door of Kulivets’s makeshift base. He fed her a sausage and she never left. He cleaned her dirty, matted fur, named her Zhuzha, let her move inside — and two months later woke up to her giving birth under his cot.

The timing could not have been worse: Kulivets’s battalion was about to relocate to a village near the front-line city of Avdiivka, and he now had six dogs — including five puppies — in his care. His commander, a dog lover himself, told Kulivets to bring them along.

For the rest of the summer, as fierce battles took place mere miles away, the dogs distracted Kulivets and his fellow troops from the horrors of war. “To have some little one to take care of — I think it’s a basic need for every human being,” he said.

From afar, Kulivets’s mother helped find homes around Ukraine for the four male puppies. His grandparents agreed to adopt the only girl, whom they named Asya. In late August, when the puppies were 2 months old, Kulivets drove to Dnipro to pass them off to his mom — his first time seeing her since he had deployed. He returned to war the same day with only Zhuzha left.

Back east, Kulivets moved with Zhuzha to the city of Bakhmut, which Russia later destroyed and seized. Under intense shelling, he would hurry her outside for bathroom breaks. His team grew so attached that it named the command center Zhuzha, and her name appeared in official military orders.

Kulivets and Zhuzha eventually demobilized, and both have settled into civilian life in Kyiv. “When my commander calls me, his first question is not about me — it’s about Zhuzha,” Kulivets said.
In villages outside Kyiv, Elina Sutiahyna, 64, and Nadiia Tkachenko, also 64, friends who ran small kiosks in the same market, heard through volunteers about Zhuzha’s front-line puppies who needed homes.

Sutiahyna adopted one and named him Avdyusha, after Avdiivka, the city Kulivets’s battalion defended. The dog now assists Sutiahyna’s husband, who had a stroke, acting “as his eyes and ears,” she said.
Tkachenko took another and named him Archie.
“To me it was important to help an animal from the front line,” she said. “If you see these videos of soldiers with animals, you can’t help but just cry.”

Tom Ley, at Defector: [gift link]

Donald Trump released yet another deranged statement on Tuesday, demanding that a transgender high school student be barred from participating in the California state track and field championships, which are scheduled to be held this weekend in Clovis, Calif. The inane thoughts that make their way from Trump’s obviously diminished mind onto his Playskool social media platform should not demand the attention of any right-thinking Americans, and yet in this case the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) snapped to attention, rewriting its qualification rules in an attempt to appease those behind what’s become a national hate campaign directed at a 16-year-old high school student.

The student Trump was referring to in his post is named AB Hernandez. She is set to compete in the high jump, triple jump, and long jump at the state championships, and she has spent the past few months being harassed by a local group of bigots. This group is led by Sonja Shaw and Jessica Tapia, both members of the Save Girls Sports association. Shaw is currently running for California superintendent of public instruction, and Tapia was recently fired from her teaching position at Hernandez’s high school for refusing to respect trans and nonbinary students’ pronouns. At a qualification meet earlier this month, Tapia and Shaw led a group that spent hours heckling and harassing Hernandez as she competed.

Cerise Castle of Capital & Main has done a fantastic job covering this story, which has all the familiar beats: Hernandez has been on the track team for three years and never drew any attention until now; she finished first in triple jump, eighth in high jump, and third in long jump at the qualification meet; she has shown nothing but grace and maturity in the face of intense bigotry. “There’s nothing I can do about people’s actions, just focus on my own,” Hernandez told Castle. “I’m still a child, you’re an adult, and for you to act like a child shows how you are as a person.”…

Here we are once again confronted by a central truth about the people who lead these anti-trans campaigns in sports, which is that although they are first and foremost hateful bigots, they are also huge fucking losers. Sports serves many valuable purposes: Creating a place where someone like Hernandez can find community, camaraderie, and comfort in her body is a big one, but so is teaching kids and young adults how to deal with failure. The freaks who make it their mission to antagonize Hernandez and other trans athletes always claim to be acting out of a duty to fairness. Anyone who has ever played or seriously engaged with sports knows, however, that “fairness” is often the first word out of the mouth of a loser. There is always, always something “unfair” for the loser to latch onto and turn into an excuse. Walk around any youth sports competition and you’ll hear plenty of them: That team has a kid who is too big and strong; the rich kids from one county over have access to better equipment; my kid would have won if he hadn’t rolled his ankle last week.

Sports will always, eventually, take something from you, and then it will leave enough space for you to convince yourself that your loss was unjust. What you get out of the experience often comes down to what you do with the impulse to fill that space. Years of cultural conditioning has taught athletes that it is best to ignore that impulse, to accept failure on its own terms and derive whatever lessons you can from it. But now we are faced with a growing chorus of hateful losers who want to reverse all of that conditioning, and in the process turn sports into something small and stupid. The lesson these people want to give to their children is that if circumstance places their athletic failure near the success of someone who belongs to a specifically marginalized group, they are free to huff and puff and stomp their feet until the President of the United States himself intervenes to validate their tantrum. The quicker these people get shoved into a locker, the better.

Maybe we’ve reached the “eating their own” stage: (Politico)

President Donald Trump leveled unusually pointed criticism of a prominent conservative legal activist and organization Thursday as he railed against a ruling that struck down his sweeping tariffs.

The president, in a post on his social media platform, slammed Leonard Leo, the former chair of the Federalist Society, calling him a “sleazebag” who “probably hates America.”

It was a striking characterization of Leo, who played a key role in working with Trump to shape the conservative Supreme Court.

“He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is!,” Trump wrote.

I tried to check Trump’s janky Twitter-clone platform to see how much Politico cleaned up the outburst, but it was down when I looked. It’s down a lot lately. I hear the same is true of the Nazi and crypto-grifter bot platform owned by Trump’s top campaign donor.

Speaking of the flounder-faced, ketamine-addled oligarch who installed the current government, apparently he and the ceremonial head of state are holding a joint press conference in the Oval Office later today to mark Musk’s alleged departure from government “service.”

I will not be watching. I hope y’all find better things to do too. Lots of dryer lint traps need cleaning!

Russia Is Dragging Out the War and Doing Everything It Can Simply to Deceive the Countries That Are Still Trying to Influence Moscow With Words Rather Than Pressure – Address by the President

29 May 2025 – 19:20

I wish you health, fellow Ukrainians!

Today, I’m already in Kyiv – an active day after the visit to Germany. All the agreements must be implemented as soon as possible. This concerns air defense first and foremost – the top priority – but also investments: investments in our production – weapons production and beyond – as well as all our other joint projects. We highly value cooperation with Germany – this is one of those cases when bilateral relations between our countries help all of our Europe. I want to thank Chancellor Merz personally for the good decisions – more joint production, increased funding, development of IRIS-T capabilities for Ukraine, missiles for Patriot systems – that’s what matters most. Thank you.

Today, I held a meeting with Ukraine’s Defense Minister Umerov, Foreign Minister Sybiha, and Head of the Presidential Office Yermak regarding our diplomatic efforts. We maintain daily coordination with our partners and are preparing additional meetings for this week.

Today, we had conversations with both American and European partners. It’s important to speak honestly – everyone in the world – especially those who have supported a ceasefire. Russia is dragging out the war and doing everything it can simply to deceive the countries that are still trying to influence Moscow with words rather than pressure. Words do not work with Moscow. Even the so-called “memorandum,” which they promised and allegedly spent over a week preparing – no one has seen it yet. It has not been shared with Ukraine. It has not been shared with our partners. They haven’t even shared the new agenda with Türkiye – the country that hosted the first meeting. Although they promised the exact opposite, and above all, they promised it to the United States, to President Trump. Another Russian deception. They are doing everything to ensure the meetings are meaningless. And that is yet another reason why there should be sufficient sanctions, sufficient pressure on Russia. Today, Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi delivered a report on the frontline and on our long-range activity inside Russian territory. I thank our guys for their precision. And it is only fair – it is in Russia that they must feel what war truly is in order to be willing to engage in diplomacy.

And one more thing.

Today, I spoke with Ukraine’s Finance Minister Marchenko about Ukraine’s long-term financial outlook – ensuring support for the army, maintaining Ukraine’s resilience, and securing budget payments. Stability and predictability for our people are essential. We are working on this together with our partners – including in preparation for the upcoming G7 meetings. Thank you to everyone standing with Ukraine. Thank you to everyone defending our state.

Glory to Ukraine!

Georgia:

Great. The regime has refused entry to so many Polish and EU citizens in general that now the Embassy of Poland issues a warning to essentially think twice before attempting to enter Georgia.

Sumy Oblast:

⚡️Russia amassed enough troops to attack Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, Border Guard warns.

Russia “has enough forces there (in Kursk Oblast) to carry out operations against our border and attempt to attack the territory of Ukraine,” said Andrii Demchenko, a State Border Guard Service spokesperson.

— The Kyiv Independent (@kyivindependent.com) May 29, 2025 at 5:28 AM

From The Kyiv Independent:

Russia has concentrated a sufficient amount of forces in Kursk Oblast to potentially launch an attack on Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said on May 29.

The statement comes amid warnings of a new possible Russian offensive this summer as U.S.-mediated peace efforts have failed to produce a ceasefire deal.

Russia has become increasingly active in Sumy Oblast after mostly pushing out Ukrainian forces from Kursk Oblast. Ukrainian authorities recently confirmed that Russian forces captured four Sumy Oblast villages close to the border: Novenke, Zhuravka, Veselivka, and Basivka.

Speaking on national television, Demchenko said Russia began amassing forces when it attempted to push Ukrainian troops out of Kursk Oblast, where Ukraine launched its operation in August 2024.

Russia continues to maintain a force in Kursk Oblast, and Ukraine periodically detects a “certain change in the number of both soldiers and equipment in this area,” the spokesperson said.

Russia “has enough forces there (in Kursk Oblast) to carry out operations against our border and attempt to attack the territory of Ukraine,” he continued.

The remarks came days after President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is accumulating 50,000 troops near Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy Oblast, seeking to create a 10-kilometer buffer zone in the area.

According to Kyiv, Russia planned to launch an offensive into Sumy Oblast already back in 2024, but the plan was disrupted by Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk Oblast. Moscow has repeatedly indicated plans to create a buffer zone between Ukraine and Russia in the area.

The situation on the border of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts with Russia must be treated with the utmost seriousness, warned Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Zhorin

Ukraine urgently needs to prepare logistics, cover roads with anti-drone nets, and build fortifications euromaidanpress.com/2025/05/29/r…

— Euromaidan Press (@euromaidanpress.bsky.social) May 29, 2025 at 5:08 PM

EuroMaidan Press has more details:

The situation on the border of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts with Russia must be treated with the utmost seriousness, warns Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of Ukraine’s 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.

Russia’s 2025 summer offensive focuses on capturing the entirety of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and establishing a buffer zone in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv. Rather than rapid armored breakthroughs, Moscow is relying on high-intensity assaults across multiple fronts, leveraging adapted tactics such as the use of fast motorcycles and buggies to offset equipment losses.

Zhorin stresses the urgent need to prepare logistics, cover roads with anti-drone nets, and build fortifications. He notes that Russia lacks sufficient forces to capture regional centers but may attempt to push deeper into Ukrainian territory to use this as leverage in negotiations.

“Their goal isn’t to seize entire regions, but to add two more to their propaganda narrative — and claim they could have taken them, but chose not to,” Zhorin says.

Even without a critical mass of troops, the threat remains — and not just in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, warns that Russia may also launch an offensive in the Chernihiv direction, 24 Channel reports.

This is a critical threat, as Chernihiv borders Kyiv Oblast and was a key invasion route in 2022, when Russian forces advanced through Hlukhiv, Bakhmach, and Chernihiv in an attempt to encircle Kyiv from the northeast.

“We must disrupt Russia’s plans to create a buffer zone. That zone must be on Russian territory, not in Ukraine,” Kovalenko emphasizes.

He adds that Russia has long ceased to hide its strategic goal — the occupation of all of Ukraine. However, having a plan does not mean the enemy is capable of executing it.

Ukraine’s military leadership urges not to delay in strengthening the border and preparing for a multi-directional defense.

Chuhuiv, Kharkiv Oblast:

Open Thread: Qatar Opts Out

Breaking news: Qatar has asked the U.S. to clarify that the pending transfer of a luxury jetliner President Trump wants for Air Force One was initiated by the administration and that Qatar was not responsible for any future transfers, officials said.

— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost.com) May 28, 2025 at 8:17 PM

Throwing a nice celebration for important foreign dignitaries and the global news media is one thing; getting tarred as the cronies of some grubby little political figurehead is a different disgrace. Per the Washington Post [gift link]:

Despite claims by the Defense Department to the contrary, legal teams representing the U.S. and Qatari governments have not finalized an agreement for transferring the luxury Boeing 747-8 jetliner that President Donald Trump wants for Air Force One amid outstanding requests by Qatar for Washington to clarify the transaction’s terms, said officials familiar with the matter.

Qatar is insisting that a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Doha specify that the aircraft’s transfer was initiated by the Trump administration and that Qatar is not responsible for any future transfers of the plane’s ownership, these people said.

The delay reflects lingering concerns about legal liability stemming from the White House maneuver to transform what was originally a sale between two countries into a “gift” that Trump continues to tout as a major deliverable from his recent trip to the Middle East.

“[I] got a beautiful big magnificent free airplane for the United States Air Force,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday. “Very proud of that.”

The outstanding legal work is not expected to scuttle the plane deal, the officials said, but the clarifications are likely to invite further scrutiny of the administration’s claims about how the deal originated.

Trump initially said it was Qatar that reached out and offered him the luxury jet free of charge. In fact, it was the Trump administration that first approached Qatar this winter about acquiring the plane through a sale after the president made clear to aides that he was upset about delays of two Boeing jets purchased during his first term for $3.9 billion, officials said. Discussion about the sale later evolved into Qatar agreeing to provide the plane as a gift, a development reported previously by CNN and the New York Times…

In recent weeks, Qatar has faced intense criticism from Democrats and some Republicans for the luxury jet arrangement. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut) and a group of fellow Democrats introduced legislation to block $1.9 billion in arms sales to Doha unless the offer was rescinded.

“It’s an illegal bribe that the President of the United States is champing at the bit to accept. That’s unconstitutional and not how we conduct foreign policy,” Murphy said at the time…

Trump’s determination to complete the deal has been apparent to his aides since he toured the aircraft on Feb. 15 at the Palm Beach International Airport and admired its interior, officials said. “They’re giving it to me,” Trump remarked to those around him…

After Trump toured the jet, Air Force officials reviewed the aircraft and found that it was “very poorly maintained” and would require millions of dollars just to bring it up to satisfactory maintenance conditions, said one person familiar with the matter. The Air Force assessed then that there was no way the jet could ferry the president in its current state.

The Air Force estimated then that it could cost $1.5 billion to meet those requirements. To then remove the military gear and convert it for civilian use after Trump leaves office could cost an estimated $500 million, said two people familiar with the matter.

One of these officials said it was unclear if those estimates still hold true, because the president has the authority to waive certain requirements, former U.S. officials said.

“If the president said, ‘I want this in a year and a half, and I don’t care what capabilities it has as long as it’s a luxury flying palace with my colors on it,’” then it can be done, said former Air Force secretary Frank Kendall. But he’ll have to waive some security requirements, which he can do, Kendall said. “He’s the commander in chief. Nobody’s going to make him have those features.”

The Level of Lawlessness Criminality and Corruption Is Breathtaking

This post is in: Open Threads

In spite of everything we’ve seen since 2015, there is still a voice in my head that’s saying “how can this be possible, how can our system not be able to do anything about this?”

When you believe in democracy, truly believe in it, and you have lived in one (even though imperfect) your entire adult life, what we’re experiencing seems impossible, and I think that’s part of what is holding us back in dealing with the breathtaking corruption and lawlessness  criminality.

Judges Consider Managing Their Own Security Force Due to Rising Threats  (Rolling Stone)

Federal judges, worried that the president could withdraw the U.S. marshals protecting them in retaliation for ruling against his administration, are considering managing their own security force as threats to the judiciary are rising.

The Wall Street Journal reports that judges discussed the idea of creating their own security detail behind closed doors at the semiannual meeting of the Judicial Conference, national policymaking body for the federal courts, in early March. Security committee members described increased threats in the wake of Trump’s attacks.

The judiciary’s fears of Trump’s reprisal are not unfounded. The president has withdrawn security protection in the past from those he perceives as his enemies, including his former secretary of state Mike Pompeo and former national security advisor John Bolton. Trump also recently ended Secret Service protection for former president Joe Biden’s adult children.

Democrats in Congress share the judges’ concern. Led by Sen. Cory Booker, they introduced a bill last week that would transfer control of the U.S. Marshals from the executive to the judicial branch, allowing the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Judicial Conference to appoint a director.

“President Trump has made it abundantly clear through his words and actions that he does not respect the law, court orders, the safety of our judges, or our institutions,” Booker said in a statement. “Congress must act to move the bureau into the judicial branch. Our U.S. Marshals are critical to protecting the rule of law, and they must be able to do their jobs without political interference.”

It’s all so fucked up, and I’m not sure what to do to fight this more effectively.
