This is encouraging — the White House press corps (well, some of them, anyway) dragged Huckabee-Sanders pretty hard this afternoon over the administration’s monstrous policy of separating immigrant parents from children at the border:
“Come on Sarah. You’re a parent. Don’t you have any empathy…?”

In the above clip, Paula Reid pushed back on Huckabee-Sanders’ bald-faced lie about family separation being the Democrats’ fault. Reid specifically cited Session’s statement that family separation is a “deterrent” as evidence that this ongoing atrocity is on the Republicans. Good for her. Brian Karem followed up, putting the issue in personal terms that clearly made Huckabee-Sanders uncomfortable. Then, Jim Acosta got theological:

Huckabee-Sanders got all snarky with her favorite punching bag, then said, “It is very biblical to enforce the law.”
Yeah, just ask Jesus, who was lawfully executed, ya slack-jawed, melon-headed, fart-huffing spawn of a hominy demon!
The people in this administration are truly awful human beings. But it’s vaguely encouraging to see that the White House press corps hasn’t been completely sapped of its capacity for moral outrage. Even if it takes an unambiguously monstrous policy to call it forth.
